Virtual Line Dancing

Greetings, my Terpsichorean Friends!

Whew!  Is it hot enough for ya?

Tonight will be a review of Lonely Drum (video).  This fun dance is done to a great song of the same name by Aaron Goodvin.

The dance is challenging enough to be fun, yet not so overwhelming that it is difficult.

Following that will be D.H.S.S. (video).  This has always been a favorite of many!

I wonder if SuperSister knows there is a line dance to their song?

I look forward to seeing you at 7:30!

Virtual Line Dancing

Greetings, my Terpsichorean Friends!

What an absolutely beautiful day it has been this Saturday!  However, does anyone know of a rain line dance?  We should could use some moisture!

We will start this week with a review of D.H.S.S. (video).  This has always been a favorite of many!  I wonder if SuperSister knows there is a line dance to their song?

Following that will be a tried-and-true favorite, Dizzy (video).  We have traditionally done this to the Scooter Lee rendition of the 1969 Tommy Roe song of the same name.  We have discovered that it also works very well with the Earth, Wind & Fire song, September.

I look forward to seeing you at 7:30 SUNDAY!

Virtual Line Dancing

Greetings, my Terpsichorean Friends!

There are several BIG announcements to make:

(1)  The Eagles Club is opening up for dancing!!!  Yes, we will all be dancing together again next Sunday, June 27th.  AND we will be in the BIG BALLROOM!!!  No scrunching into the space between tables and no over-crowded dance floor.  The only concession we had to make to secure the big room is that we must now start at 6:30 instead of our usual 6:00.  I think that is a fair compromise for the big room.  Oh, and the dance floor was just refinished in there, making it extra nice!

(2)  Michigan's Hoedown In The Dunes is officially on for October 8 - 10.  This is a wonderfully fun and low-key weekend in a beautiful resort area just off Lake Michigan.  In years past the Twin Cities has had the second-highest attendance behind Chicago.  Let's keep that momentum going!

(3)  The Wisconsin Barn Dance, hosted by the wonderfully generous Richard Kilmer, is back on Saturday, September 11th!  (facebook line)

The farm is an easy 3.5-hour drive from the Twin Cities and is a great weekend getaway.  Officially the events all take place on Saturday.  People then either bring tents are find lodging at a local motel.  I recommend the Hotel Hillsboro!  In the morning we all gather at a local restaurant for breakfast before going back to the farm to help clean up, then returning home.

(4)  You may have already heard that there will be no Pride Parade this year, BUT there will be a celebration in the park, AND there will be a dance tent hosted by NSGRA.  Although I will miss the parade, it will be nice to be in the dance tent when I am not exhausted!  (grin)  While the festival is usually held the last weekend of June (Pride Month) this year it will be the weekend of July 17 - 18.  Come on out and proudly dance the weekend away!

Now, on to tonight's lessons:

Something In The Water (video)

A Drink In My Hand (video)

Tush Push (video)

As discussed last week, we are going to do "rain dances" or at least something that has to do with water, in hopes of ending this dry spell!  Tush Push will be done to "It's Raining Men."

I look forward to seeing you tonight!
